Q: What is the Laser Skin Resurfacing?
A: The Laser Skin Resurfacing is a new minimally invasive procedure that utilizes advanced laser technology to reduce wrinkles, clear pigmented and elevated skin lesions, and evidence of sun damage.
Q: Does the procedure hurt?

A: Usually not. Sometimes patients may experience minor discomfort similar to a stinging effect. However, most patients experience no pain.
Q: Are general anesthesia or needles required?
A: Absolutely not. Prior to the laser treatment you will have a cream applied to your face which will take about 60 minutes to numb the skin so you will feel only minimal discomfort. You may take some medication orally to relax further.
Q: How long does the procedure take?
A: Application of the laser energy takes approximately 30 minutes.
Q: What will I look like after the procedure?

A: Your face will have redness and swelling as if you had experienced a sunburn. This generally disappears within 48 hours. Your skin will peel in 3-4 days leaving you with silk soft skin complete healing is achieved in approximately 7-10 days.
Q: Will I miss any work?

Q: Will I be able to wear makeup?

Q: Are there any side effects or complications of the laser facial?

A: You should experience no complications from this procedure. In rare cases, transient skin discoloration may occur which is easily treated with topical creams. This is in contrast to the traditional CO2 laser which is more invasive and requires a 4-8 week recovery and may lead to prolonged redness and skin discoloration. If you are prone to cold sores, you will be prescribed medication to prevent an outbreak.
Q: Can the procedure be repeated?
A: Yes, the laser facial can be repeated in 3-6 months for a touch up or as needed to maintain smooth, clean skin.
Q: Are there any other precautions I should take after the procedure?
A: You will be given a post treatment lubricant to keep the skin moist and you must use a sun block. You may resume your routine skin care program in 2-3 weeks. Our physician-directed skin care program will maximize and prolong your results.
